Our therapists perform a thorough evaluation of each patient to determine what type of therapy is most appropriate. The types of therapies offered include:
Occupational Therapy: Occupational therapy helps restore an individual’s ability to perform activities of daily living as independently as possible. These activities may include walking, preparing meals, writing, or any other activity performed at work, home, or school. An occupational therapist’s goal is to restore the patient’s maximum functional ability.
Physical Therapy: Physical therapy addresses an individual’s limitations due to pain, muscle weakness, impaired mobility, and/or balance deficits. A physical therapist’s goal is to help increase the patient’s function, endurance, and strength. In addition, patients learn techniques to maintain their renewed mobility and prevent recurring injury.
Speech Therapy: Speech therapy focuses on an individual’s speech and ability to swallow. Our speech therapists conduct a thorough evaluation of each patient, which may include a Video Swallow Evaluation, an important diagnostic tool. Their treatment plan often includes therapy, patient and family education, and follow-up services, if needed. All of our speech therapists are certified by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association.
