Dr. Kronfol is a board-certified and fellowship-trained surgeon practicing at Highland Medical, P.C., Highland Surgical Associates in West Nyack, NY. Dr. Kronfol received his board certification in both general surgery and colon and rectal surgery from the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery, respectively. He specializes in anorectal surgical procedures, laparoscopic and robotic minimally invasive colon and rectal surgery, transanal minimally invasive surgery, endoscopy procedures, as well as general surgery. He has a particular interest in colon and rectal cancer, anal cancer, diverticulitis, pelvic floor disorders, inflammatory bowel disease and anorectal pathology such as hemorrhoids, fissures, perirectal abscesses and fistula.

Dr. Kronfol comes to Highland Medical, P.C., from Houston Methodist Specialty Physician Group where he served as the Director of Colon and Rectal Surgery at Houston Methodist Baytown Hospital. Dr. Kronfol was involved in numerous hospital committees including being Chair of the Endoscopy Committee, Cancer Liaison Physician for the Cancer Committee, and Chair of the Credentials Committee, among others.

Dr. Kronfol earned his medical doctorate from the American University of Beirut Medical Center in Beirut, Lebanon. He completed his General Surgery internship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN and his General Surgery Residency at Texas Tech University Health Science Center in El Paso, TX. Dr. Kronfol completed his Fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York, NY.

He is a member of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, and the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Kronfol has presented at many academic conferences and seminars and has several publications. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, outdoor activities, sports and spending time with family.
