Diabetes is complicated, and it takes practice to manage it in your everyday life. You may be wondering about eating balanced meals, exercising safely, checking blood sugar, or giving yourself injectable medicines. Diabetes Self Management Education and Support (DSMES) classes help you with all these skills, whatever stage you’re in or the type of diabetes you have.
DSMES can help you improve your blood sugar levels to prevent or delay complications (such as kidney disease, amputation and heart disease), avoid emergency care, and save you money on health care costs. DSMES can also help you lower your blood pressure and cholesterol.
Registration is not required. Join us on the phone or via Zoom. For more information, please email Melissa Keeney at mkeeney@montefiorenyack.org.
The DSMES program runs on Tuesdays at noon, from October 8th to November 26th.
