PHARMACY MANAGEMENT

Magda Fulman, PharmD, BCPS

Dr. Fulman is the Assistant Director of Pharmacy and the PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Program Director at Montefiore Nyack Hospital. Prior to joining Montefiore Nyack Hospital, Dr. Fulman was the Internal Medicine Clinical Coordinator and served as the PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency Program Director and preceptor at Northwell Health Long Island Jewish Medical Center (LIJMC) in NY. Dr. Fulman’s vision for the Pharmacy Department at Montefiore Nyack Hospital led to the expansion of the pharmacist’s role within the clinical team, development of a robust residency program, and growth of clinical pharmacy services to include Transitions of Care, Antimicrobial Stewardship, and pharmacy driven protocols. Dr. Fulman takes special interest in educating pharmacy staff, residents, and students serving as a preceptor from multiple schools of pharmacy. Dr. Fulman is committed to patient safety and expansion of clinical pharmacy services by participating in many performance improvement projects, including pharmacy residency research projects. Dr. Fulman is Board Certified in Pharmacotherapy and received her Doctor of Pharmacy at the St. John’s University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in NY. She completed an ASHP-accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency at LIJMC.

Daryl Schiller, MS, PharmD, BCPS, CPEL, FASHP

Dr. Schiller oversees clinical and operational activities as the Senior Pharmacy Director and the PGY-2 Pharmacy Residency Program Director at Montefiore Nyack Hospital. He previously held the position of Assistant Director for Clinical Services and PGY-1 Residency Program Director at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ where he was also the Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Infectious Diseases and Burn Trauma. He has been involved with numerous professional organizations at both the local and national levels including serving as President of the New Jersey Society of Health-System Pharmacists, a member of the ASHP Council on Therapeutics, a delegate in the ASHP House of Delegates, and a question writer for the Board of Pharmacy Specialists BCPS exam. He is Board Certified in Pharmacotherapy with Added Qualifications in Infectious Diseases. Dr. Schiller has 20 publications in peer-reviewed journals and numerous conference presentations including being an invited lecturer at national conferences as well as many regional pharmacy-, medicine-, and nursing-based meetings. He received BS and MS degrees in pharmacology and immunology from SUNY Buffalo and a Doctorate in Pharmacy from Long Island University followed by a residency in Infectious Diseases at the James J. Peters Bronx VA Medical Center. Under his direction, the Pharmacy Department at Montefiore Nyack Hospital has made great strides in expanding clinical pharmacy services and other medication safety processes.

CLINICAL TEAM

Aaron Salwan, PharmD, MPH, BCPP  
PGY2 Psychiatric Pharmacy Residency Program Director
Dr. Aaron Salwan is our Behavioral Health Clinical Pharmacy Specialist. Dr. Salwan is a 2017 graduate of the Ohio Northern University Raabe College of Pharmacy. He completed a 3-year research fellowship at East Tennessee State University where he earned his Master of Public Health degree with a concentration in Community and Behavioral Health. After fellowship, Dr. Salwan pursued a specialty residency in neuropsychiatry at Rutgers Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy.

Gaurav Bajaj, PharmD

Dr. Bajaj is our Informatics Pharmacist. Dr. Bajaj received his Doctor of Pharmacy at the Long Island University Arnold and Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy in NY. Dr. Bajaj started working at Montefiore Nyack Hospital as a Staff Pharmacist and transitioned into the field of Health Informatics and has earned a Pharmacy Informatics Certificate through American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP). Dr. Bajaj enjoys mentoring pharmacists, students and residents in the field of Pharmacy Informatics.

Leora Blander, PharmD

Dr. Blander is a Clinical Staff Pharmacist specializing in internal medicine. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy. Dr. Blander completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency in Baltimore. Prior to joining Montefiore Nyack Hospital, she has had many opportunities to work in different aspects of pharmacy. She worked as a consultant Clinical Pharmacist for several years before relocating to Rockland County. She has a strong interest in anticoagulation and pain management.

Kelly Chan, PharmD, BCPS

Dr. Chan holds the position of Clinical Pharmacist, specializing in critical care. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the University at Buffalo, School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. She completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ. Prior to joining MNH, Dr. Chan worked at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Queens, NY. She is actively involved in the critical care services, rounding daily on patients in the medical and surgical critical care units and serves as the preceptor for the critical care learning experience.

Alexandra Harris PharmD, BCPS

Dr. Harris is our Transitions of Care Clinical Pharmacy Specialist. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Services and completed her PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Montefiore Nyack Hospital, during which she earned a teaching certificate at St. John's University. Some daily activities as the TOC Pharmacist include attending multidisciplinary rounds on the cardiac/ICU step down unit and providing bedside patient education for heart failure, COPD and post-MI.

Christy Huynh, Pharm.D, BCPS

Dr. Huynh is a preceptor for the internal medicine rotation. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from St. Johns University and completed her PGY-1 training at NYU Langone. Her areas of interests include anticoagulation, infectious disease and transition of care.

Shannon Klein, PharmD, BCPS

Shannon Klein is the Pharmacy Regulatory Supervisor. She received her Bachelor’s in Psychology at State University of NY at New Paltz before earning her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Touro College of Pharmacy. After completing her PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency at Montefiore Nyack Hospital, she remained on staff as a Clinical Staff Pharmacist before ultimately transitioning into the role of Regulatory Supervisor, where she is committed to ensuring the compliant and productive workflow of medication management according to patient safety. Shannon is also the preceptor for the journal club longitudinal learning experience.

Deirdre Minihan, PharmD, BCPS, BCIDP

Dr. Minihan is an Infectious Disease Clinical Specialist focusing on Antimicrobial Stewardship. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy from the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers University and completed her Pharmacy Practice Residency at Englewood Health. After her residency, she stayed on to work as a Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator for Infectious Diseases prior to joining Montefiore Nyack Hospital in 2024. Her commitment to education extends to mentoring pharmacy residents and students.

Gloria Porcelli, Rph, BCOP

Mrs. Gloria Porcelli received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from St. John's University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in NY. She has been a hospital pharmacist with 20+ years of experience. She has exclusively been working in oncology pharmacy since 2008. She is assistant professor of Oncology at Touro college of Pharmacy and precepts for multiple schools of pharmacy. Her professional interests include education, counseling and being an integral part of the oncology team. Mrs. Porcelli serves as the preceptor for the Ambulatory Care/Oncology learning experience.

Laurance Rances, PharmD, BCPS

Dr. Rances serves as a preceptor for the Critical Care learning experience. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Buffalo and completed his Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Touro College of Pharmacy. Dr. Rances specializes in critical care and is involved in variety of pharmacy initiatives to include protocol development, immunization clinics, and patient counseling. 

Rupangi (Soni) Rastogi, PharmD, BCPS

Dr. Rastogi is the Senior Clinical Specialist in Infectious Diseases focusing on Antimicrobial Stewardship. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Connecticut and completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital. After, she stayed on to work as a Multi-Specialty Clinical Pharmacist for 2 years and then transitioned into the role of a Neuroscience pharmacist for 1 year prior to joining Montefiore Nyack Hospital. She started the antimicrobial stewardship program at MNH in 2016 and in addition to leading a quarterly inter-disciplinary stewardship meeting, has also implemented a number of pharmacist-driven protocols to optimize antibiotic use.
