Nyack, N.Y., June 16, 2025 – In recognition of Wound Care Awareness Month in June, the physicians, nurses, and administrative staff at The Wound Care Center at Montefiore Nyack Hospital received the Center of Distinction Award from Healogics, the nation’s largest provider of advanced wound care services. Montefiore Nyack’s Wound Care Center achieved outstanding clinical outcomes for twelve consecutive months, boasting a patient satisfaction rate exceeding 92 percent and a minimum wound healing rate of at least 91 percent within a median of 30 days.
The Montefiore Nyack Hospital Wound Care Center, part of the Healogics network, provides highly specialized wound care to patients with diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections, and other chronic wounds that have not healed within a reasonable timeframe. Advanced treatments include negative pressure wound therapy, bio-engineered skin substitutes, biological and biosynthetic dressings, growth factor therapies, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
During the 11th annual Wound Care Awareness Week (June 9-13) and throughout the month, The Wound Care Center is raising awareness about the risks associated with chronic wounds. The Center’s 2025 outreach campaign, “Come Heal With Us,” focuses on underserved populations, emphasizing that when it comes to chronic wounds, early detection saves limbs and lives.
