This series of virtual chats held every Thursday empowers individuals to take better care of their health.
Nyack, N.Y. March 14, 2025 – The Community Health and Wellness Department at Montefiore Nyack Hospital hosts a live, interactive series of online community chats each Thursday from noon to 1:00 p.m. Guest speakers include physicians, health providers and local community resource professionals who address a different topic related to health, wellness and social services each week. There is no fee to participate, but registration is required to access the live chat via Zoom.
Montefiore Nyack Hospital’s Community Health and Wellness provides education opportunities and resources to help empower individuals to take better care of their health. In March and April, the community chat topics will include planning for eldercare, asthma and wellness, Parkinson's Disease, healthy family relationships and fall prevention.

Join representatives from the Parkinson’s Wellness Project for a discussion on how to take control of your PD before it takes control of you. Learn coping strategies and ways to manage your condition to be your best self!
April 17, 2025 – Supporting Healthy Relationships
This discussion will be led by a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in couple and family therapy. The Supporting Healthy Relationships (SHR) program is a free family strengthening program designed to empower parenting couples to achieve family success by helping them to improve their communication skills, reduce destructive conflict and gain financial stability.
April 24, 2025 – Fall Prevention
In one year, nearly 30% of Americans aged 65 and older experience a fall and more than 2 million require an emergency room visit because of fall-related injuries. Falls are the leading cause of injury-related death in older adults and are incredibly costly. The focus of this discussion is fall education and awareness, and to help our older adults maintain their independence.
