The Rehabilitation Department includes a team of highly trained and experienced occupational, physical and speech therapists led by Dr, Andrew Gitkind and Patricia Shea, PT, DPT, MPA, CEEA.
Dr. Andrew I. Gitkind, MD, Medical Director of the Department of Rehabilitation at Montefiore Nyack Hospital
Dr. Gitkind is a board-certified physician in physical medicine and rehabilitation. He earned his medical doctorate from St. George’s University in Grenada, completed his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation and fellowship training in interventional pain management, both at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, NY. Dr. Gitkind also serves as the Vice Chair for Clinical Operations for the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Montefiore Medical Center and is the Medical Director of the Montefiore Spine Center. Patricia Shea, PT, DPT, MPA, CEEAA, Director of Rehabilitation Services at Montefiore Nyack Hospital
Patricia Shea is the Director of Rehabilitation Services (PT, OT, SLP) at Montefiore Nyack Hospital. She has over 30 years of experience practicing physical therapy in a medical setting with pediatric and adult patients in a variety of roles. Patricia earned her MS in Physical Therapy at Columbia University in New York, NY. While working, Patricia earned a MPA Health Administration with a concentration in Geriatrics from Long Island University in Brooklyn, NY and then a DPT, Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Utica College in Utica, NY. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and a Certified Educator of Exercise for the Aging Adult (CEEAA).
