The Surgical Technician assists in the care of patients in the Labor and Delivery area and the Obstetrical Operating Room, which includes the care, preparation, and maintenance of sterile and un-sterile supplies and equipment. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse is responsible for performing individually assigned patient care activities based upon established patient care policies and procedures and routine tasks essential for upkeep of obstetrical area.
Assists the Director of Case Management in overseeing the Utilization Management Program within Montefiore Nyack Hospital, providing direct oversight for the Medical Necessity/Level of Care Program and the Denials Management Program, assuring compliance with all Federal and State regulations. Provides superior customer service by modeling the We Care Standards. Assists Director with providing direction and supervision in performance standards, expectations and productivity for each staff member. Implements system performance process as necessary and completes annual performance appraisal
