Our Services

At The Recovery Center at Montefiore Nyack Hospital, our experts provide a range of recovery services for substance use disorder. We offer three levels of care, all certified by the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services and accredited by The Joint Commission.

Inpatient Services

Our inpatient recovery services include:

• Medically Managed Detoxification. Available for individuals ages 18 and older experiencing life-threatening symptoms of withdrawal. This treatment is provided by a team of counselors, doctors who are board-certified in addiction medicine and nurses who are available 24 hours a day.
• Inpatient Rehabilitation. This program includes intensive group therapy, individual counseling and education to build the skills necessary for recovery. An introduction to the 12-step model of recovery is included. While in treatment, if needed, patients will receive a psychiatric evaluation and treatment for mental health issues. Medication management is provided if appropriate. Starting when patients are admitted, we begin planning for their release from the program by connecting them with an appropriate support group or outpatient program to help them continue their sobriety.

Outpatient Services

After a full evaluation, individuals may be eligible for one of our outpatient treatment services which include:

• Intensive Outpatient Services. For individuals 18 years of age and older, our intensive outpatient program creates individualized treatment plans, including group therapy, one-on-one counseling and education, to help build the skills necessary for recovery. If appropriate, we offer psychiatric evaluations and medication. Day and evening times are available.
• Clinic Level Program. For individuals who need less intensive intervention, our clinic-level program offers many specialized therapy groups, covering topics such as relapse prevention, trauma recovery, legal concerns, DBT skills, mental health and more. Men-only and women-only groups are offered. Psychiatric evaluations and medication management are provided if appropriate.
• The Impaired Driver Program. This program is designed specifically to address DUI/DWI offenders, who may not be substance dependent or have the severe physical, psychological or social issues that are evident in those with advanced alcoholism. Our group program, which meets the required treatment criteria of both New York State DMV and New Jersey State law enforcement, focuses on early intervention, education and personal responsibility. We work with attorneys, law enforcement and employers, and recommend additional treatment or psychiatric services when necessary.
• Ambulatory Detoxification. Consisting of medically supervised, monitored and structured detoxification, this service is provided on an outpatient, voluntary basis. It’s delivered by a physician or other service personnel acting under the supervision of a physician. Ambulatory detoxification is performed in accordance with New York State Law, Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services Operating Regulations Part 822-4 and hospital policy.
