A hernia is a tear or defect in the abdominal wall that allows part of an internal organ to bulge out, causing aching pain or pressure in the area. Hernias tend to grow larger and cause symptoms that worsen over time. Hernias do not heal on their own, and most require surgical repair.
At this free-of-charge event, which should take approximately 10-15 minutes, a board-certified physician will take a medical history and perform a physical exam to diagnose a hernia. If a hernia is detected at the screening, our board-certified surgeon will discuss treatment options. (Age 18 and over)
