DESCRIPTION

Come join our team of Blood Bank Technologists in our Blood Bank transfusion department providing care for our patients. You will have the opportunity to gain more experience with analysis not being performed anywhere else, including rare opportunities with antibody identification and immunohematology problems. Perform laboratory procedures in preparing in dispensing blood and blood products as ordered by physicians. Be at the forefront of maintaining inventory blood and blood products for our patients in accordance with departmental guidelines.  No sponsorhips available.  Based on work experience the hourly rate is negotiable.

This is a part-time position working 3 days per week, day shift 8:00am - 4:00pm, rotating weekdays/weekends.

Preferred Criteria

  • ASCP certification
  • At least one year Blood Bank experience

Required Criteria

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related field. 
  • New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure from the New York Education department  

NEW HIRES PENDING A CLINICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIST LICENSE:

  • Must obtain the License before hire date 
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S without sponsorship.

QUALIFICATIONS
1. Experience: A minimum of 1 years’ experience in a Blood Bank as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist required.
2. Training/Certification: Bachelor of Science from a Clinical Laboratory Technologist program. ASCP (preferred)
3. Licensure: New York State Registered License
4. Other: Experience with Blood Bank software, knowledge of NYS regulatory, Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and Laboratory Information Systems. Must be able to work the commitment and have reliable transportation.
