Nyack, N.Y. September 8, 2022 – The Madlyn Borelli MS Center at Montefiore Nyack Hospital was recognized during a Together for a Cure luncheon hosted by the National MS Society. Dr. Christopher Langston, medical director of The Madlyn Borelli MS Center at Montefiore Nyack Hospital, accepted the prestigious MS Spirit Award in recognition of the Center’s dedication and expertise in treating patients living with multiple sclerosis (MS).
“As our dedicated Partner in MS Care, this award recognizes the Center’s ability and Dr. Langston’s leadership in Rockland County to inspire hope through resilience, perseverance and dedication to the National MS Society’s mission to cure MS and helping people living with MS to live their best lives,” said Dana Miele, president of the National MS Society’s Greater New York City – Long Island Chapter.
Affiliated with Montefiore Einstein, The Madlyn Borelli MS Center offers a full array of services to address the often complex needs of people with MS and to help keep patients as healthy as possible. The Center offers FLAIR* (Fluid-Attenuated Inversion Recovery) imaging, which enhances the utility of MRI for diagnosing MS and helps to distinguish MS from mimicking conditions (i.e. migraine, neurosarcoid, and microvascular changes from conditions like high blood pressure, high cholesterol and smoking), providing increased diagnostic certainty. The Center goes beyond treatment by offering rehabilitation services, including physical and occupational therapy as well as support and educational programs for patients and their families.
As a result of our extensive services, The Madlyn Borelli Multiple Sclerosis Center is a designated Comprehensive Center for MS Care through the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s Partners in MS Care program.
