Nyack, N.Y. June 12, 2024 – Montefiore Einstein Comprehensive Orthopedic and Spine Center has opened its new multi-specialty, outpatient facility in West Nyack, N.Y. The Center officially celebrated its grand opening on June 11, 2024, with a dedication ceremony that included remarks by Philip Ozuah, MD, PhD, President and CEO of Montefiore Einstein; Scott Edelman, MBA, CPA, CFE, Executive Director, Burke Rehabilitation Hospital; Neil Cobelli, MD, Chairman Orthopedic Surgery of Montefiore Einstein; Mark Geller, MD, FACR, President and CEO of Montefiore Nyack Hospital; and Jason Fond, MD, Director of Orthopedic Surgery at Montefiore Nyack Hospital.
Congressman Mike Lawler, of New York’s 17th Congressional District, and Ed Day, County Executive of Rockland County, issued proclamations declaring June 11, 2024, as Montefiore Einstein Comprehensive Orthopedic and Spine Center Day in Rockland County. George Hoehmann, Town Supervisor of Clarkstown, recognized the West Nyack-based Center’s impact and availability of services to both the local community and the larger Hudson Valley area. This two-story, 60,000-square-foot building at 3 Centerock Road offers integrated comprehensive orthopedic care, advanced orthopedic and spine imaging, spinal interventions and expert physical rehabilitation services from the academic experts at Montefiore Einstein Orthopedic and Spine Surgeons, Montefiore Nyack Hospital and Burke Rehabilitation Hospital.
Developed by Aspect Health and designed by global architecture, design and planning firm Gensler, The Montefiore Einstein Comprehensive Orthopedic and Spine Center (MECOSC) welcomes patients who can now access advanced care for all musculoskeletal services in one central location. Experts from Montefiore Einstein Orthopedic Surgery and Spine Surgeons provide orthopedic care and surgery, minimally invasive spinal intervention, and pain management for all orthopedic issues. Professionals from Montefiore Nyack offer the most advanced MRI system for diagnostic imaging as well as surgical care in the state-of-the-art ambulatory surgery center. Patients requiring rehabilitation services to recover from an injury or to regain strength and mobility post-surgery have access to the experts from Burke Rehabilitation Hospital. The Center began accepting patients in April and is home to the largest orthopedic physician practice in Rockland County and one of the largest in the region.
As a leader in academic musculoskeletal care, comprehensive services offered include state-of-the-art ambulatory surgery; advanced imaging with a 3T high field open orthopedic and spine MRI; and physical and occupational therapy rehabilitation services provided by the internationally renowned rehabilitation specialists from Burke Rehabilitation Hospital—all under one roof.
