Screening for Colorectal Cancer Can Save Lives

Cervical Cancer Can Be Prevented

Cervical cancer was once one of the most common causes of cancer death for women in the United States. Two important developments have dramatically reduced the rate of cervical cancer – the Pap screening test and the HPV vaccine, says Dr. Rocio Gonzalez, an obstetrician/gynecologist at Montefiore Nyack Hospital.

What is Cervical Cancer?

The Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support Program (DSMES) of Montefiore Nyack Hospital has earned a three-year accreditation from the Association of Diabetes Care & Education Specialists (ADCES).

As the only organization dedicated solely to diabetes education, ADCES certification is the highest level of recognition that a diabetes management program can attain. The Diabetes Education Accreditation Program (DEAP) certification highlights Montefiore Nyack Hospital’s commitment to providing exceptional care management programs to individuals living with diabetes.

Montefiore Nyack Hospital will offer a Diabetes Prevention Program for adults 18 or older who have prediabetes or are at risk for type 2 diabetes.
